Fish: A must have food item for winters.

Recently, I found my grandmother's old handwritten recipe book. There were tons of recipes that she used to cook and I thought that I would share some of them through my blog. So here's the first recipe that I am going to share, fried fish. As the winters are coming up, fish is everyone's favourite thing to have in a chilly night. This recipe is very simple but it tastes amazing.
Fishes extremely healthy and loaded with Vitamin B2 and omega fatty acids. It is a great comfort food that also protects the heart. It lowers the blood pressure and according to some studies, it may even help in treating depression and diabetes. Making this recipe once in a while would be a treat for the whole family.

Ingredients

2 kg fish
Half cup fresh yoghurt
2 lemons
2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon crushed or grounded chillies
2 teaspoon ajwain
2 tbsp crushed ginger and garlic paste
1 tablespoon Garam Masala
Gram flour

Method

Step 1: Before washing the fish, sprinkle salt and lemon juice on it and keep it aside for 1 hour. You may keep it in the refrigerator as well.
Step 2: Watch the fish with some gram flour or simple flour and strain it.
Step 3: Add the ginger garlic paste, salt, red pepper (crushed or grounded), Garam Masala and ajwain. Mix all the ingredients properly so that the mixture covers the fish completely. Let it marinate for more than 6 hours to get the best results.
Step 4: Add some water in the gram flour and make a thick paste. You can also add some rice flour.
Step 5: Coat the fish with gram flour paste and deep fry it in mustard oil. You can also use any of your own choice of oil but mustard oil is the best combination along with the fish.
