Beat the summer heat.

Summers can be pretty harsh especially if you are a resident of Pakistan. The temperature rises very quickly leading to some very annoying health issues. The heat generated by the body can be highly irritating and it gets very difficult to manage the excess heat. However, it should not be left untreated as it can lead to some serious consequences especially for the children such as heat stroke
Here are a few home remedies that might help you beat the summer blues.

Life gives you lemons? take them! 

The incredibly delicious lemon is a high source of vitamin C which is required by the body to function properly and it also provides essential supplements to the body such as Riboflavin, Vitamin B, Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorous and many proteins and carbohydrates. It maintains the heart functioning and controls the blood pressure moreover it can also be highly helpful in beating the summer stress. Just squeeze a lemon in your water bottle and keep sipping on it throughout the day to keep your body energized and rejuvenated in the warm summer days.

Watermelon! We all love it, don't we? 

Watermelon is a highly adored fruit due to its succulent and juicy flavour. It is high in water content so it keeps the body hydrated and it's an excellent source of electrolytes (sodium and potassium) that keeps the body functioning fit moreover it is an adequate source of vitamin B that plays a very vital role in the energy production of the body. It reduces the body heat and potential it detoxifies it as well eating watermelon regularly will help you to keep your body cool. You can eat watermelon simply by cutting it into slices or incorporating it into refreshing drinks as well.

Aloe vera, a natural refresher.

Aloe vera has been used for years for it healing properties. It is known for its powerful moisturizing quality as well. In summers the skin can act pretty weirdly as either it goes extremely dry or very oily. Sun exposure can be very brutal causing sunburn and skin damage. Aloe Vera can perfectly soothe your skin & make it smoother and brighter. Most of the people have their own aloe vera plant at home but if you don't have it then purchase it ASAP. Simply extract the aloe gel from the leaf and rub it on your skin, leave it for a few minutes and then rinse with cold water or you can also consume aloe vera juice that will help maintain normal body temperature.

Buttermilk or lassi as we know it.

This refreshing drink can be made with a lot of versatility and is loved by everyone. It is a highly nutritious drink that contains protein, B complex, calcium, potassium, phosphorus and folic acid. The beneficial bacterias, from the lassi, it aids the digestion and kills the harmful bacteria from the body. It hydrates the body and skin due to the high moisture content that can fulfil the requirement of water,
especially during the summer, in the body. Lassi is an instant energizer due to the high amount of glucose in it. Moreover, prickly heat can also be treated with the intake of lassi in the summers. All you need is some thick yoghurt, water and a choice of salt or sugar, blend them all together and have your own bunch of energy in the glass.

  1. Excellent tips to combat the heat. I take a vitamin C supplement since over 10 years now. The remedies that you've mentioned, watermelon, lemon and lassi, the unfortunate thing again is, as I mentioned below your previous write-up, that I suffer a lot of food intolerances and all three of these are amongst them. Lassi due to my intolerance towards dairy products. I can't even consume yoghurt.

    Regardless, I hope the readers from Pakistan take note of these tips and benefit from them. The heat of summer in that part of the world usually is beyond the level of what one can bear.
