Future Is Now

Stop living in the future because it is snatching you away from your present. Some people make the biggest mistake of their life by always trying to gape at the future, trying to make it perfect, and in that effort, they miss to look around at the perfection that a moment poses as you live it. It doesn't imply that you should not think about the future at all, I am just trying to emphasis the fact that the future is not promised, and while chasing something that is not certain, why should we lose what we have in hand?

Life is very small, it is just this moment that we are living in. What if the world ends tomorrow and all you did today was plan what you would do tomorrow? It would be disappointing, isn't it?

Sometimes all you have to do is give your hundred percent and let the Maker of the world do the rest. I have seen many people who plan ahead of time and I think it's good too because it makes sense. You never know what may go wrong so it's always good to have a plan. I even see this from a positive aspect, you 'know' that there is going to be a future where you will be able to implement the plan that you are currently devising but what if there's not? I am addressing the mentality of living out and away from the current moment.

The most unpredictable thing in life is life. Nothing is certain and the anticipation of life is both daunting and liberating. If we take life day by day, everything would get much simpler. It's not easy to sit back and let go, especially at a time when everyone is competing with each other. There is a rush to achieve things at a certain time but nobody really knows who set those bars and why are we supposed to follow them. When we partake in the race, there is constant pressure to follow the invisible deadlines that we are unwillingly conferred with.

Nobody can set a time frame for you nor you should allow anyone to define your happiness. Embrace the small moments in life because they lead to bigger things in life. Divide your goals into a day to day's schedule and just focus on completing your daily task instead of stressing over a long term plan. Pace doesn't matter, what matters is that you are moving in the right direction and the movement is continuous. If you consistently work towards a goal, you will definitely achieve what you aim for in the long run. Therefore, when you wake up every day, just think, what you want to do that day? what goals do you want to achieve on that particular day? Perhaps write them down. However, make sure you don't stress yourself out while trying to complete the daily goals too. The point is giving your best, the hustle is important without overloading yourself.

It's not a race so take it easy. You are not competing with anybody but yourself. Try to work on yourself, fight yourself, to be a better person every day. Free yourself from the worries that hold you back from living in the moment. The moment that passes by will never return so why not live it to the fullest? How to live a moment to the fullest? Be present. Absorb every event. Make it worth a while, a beautiful part of your memories. After all, it's all about the moments.

  3. As always, a wonderful write-up and one which I fully agree with. It was always going to take a deep thinker like yourself who had to remind us the value of the moment that we´re living in. I believe that planning too ahead for the future is one of the causes nowadays of depression, anxiety and other such mental health related issues. We´ve become like robots!

I knew this lady from India, Preethi Srinivasan, a famous lady from South India, Tamil Nadu. You can Google about her. She was/is a deep thinker like yourself, Zahra, and she too taught me the value of, well, valuing the moment. God bless you, and God bless her too, and everyone else out there who teaches us the value of these little yet very significant things.

    Regards,
    Rawal Afzal.
